Tips for the Perfect Espresso Shot

Step 1: Adjust the grind size carefully. Too fine grind will stop / reduce espresso flow and make espresso bitter. Too coarse grind will make espresso flow too fast and make it very light and watery.
Step 2: The powder taken in the Portafilter must be levelled and tamped by applying 30 pounds of pressure using the Tamper.
Step 3: A 30 ml espresso shot should be taken in between 20 to 25 seconds. The espresso should fall into the cup like ‘honey’. A layer of reddish crema at the top is the sign of a good espresso.
